9L Labs designs and builds consumer software for the screens people keep switched on: televisions first, then desktops and the web.
What we believe
Most software competes for attention. Ours is meant to sit in a room for hours without asking for any: a radio station and a painting on the wall, a pond on a second monitor.
That sets the bar. It has to look right from across the room, respond to a remote control at once, keep running through the night, and treat the people who use it, and the cultures its art draws on, with respect.
How we build
- Real devices. Every television release is tested on physical sets, across model years, before it goes to a store.
- Written decisions. Every product keeps a record of what was decided and why, so the reasoning outlives the meeting.
- Tests as the specification. Promises made on a website or in an app are checked automatically against what the software actually does.
- Credited art. Collections inspired by a tradition carry references for every scene and are reviewed before release.
- Few dependencies. Plain web technology that will still run on the TVs people already own.
Where we are
9L Labs is registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. We work with platform partners, stores and payment providers worldwide, and sell first to customers in the United States.
What is next
More of the platforms people actually use: LG and Android TV versions of our television apps, Koi Garden on Steam, and new art collections. When there is a date, it will be on the product's own page.
